Trainer's Profile
James Or holds a BEng and MEng from NUS/NTU in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
James’s expertise in university projects is in the areas of noise cancellation using adaptive filtering, and the study of sorting algorithms using C in Unix machine.
Prior to joining Ngee Ann Polytechnic, James worked in areas related to Remote Sensing, Image Processing, Neural Networks, Micro-controllers and programming in multi-processor embedded system.
James has completed some consultancy projects related to distributed control system nodes using Neuron chips for building control, home automation and industrial applications.
James has published some papers when doing project works and while pursuing master degrees in IFAC Workshop on Distributed Computer Control System Seoul Korea and IEEE ICARV Singapore on image processing using Transputers.
James is currently a lecturer in Ngee Ann Polytechnic teaching electrical engineering modules. His areas of teaching are Electronics, C Programming, Distributed Control Systems, Electrical Installation Design, Electrical Circuit Analysis, Programmable Logic Controllers and Microcontroller. His role in course management of CET Part-time electrical engineering diploma has enabled him to use programming languages like VBA and Python to aid in his works in management, grouping and enrolment.
