Course Information

This 16-hour short course adopting a blended learning model over 2 days aims to equip the learners knowledge, skills and techniques in Classroom Management. The learners will be taught on the the developmental and ecological factors that are associated with various types of disruptive classroom behaviour of students. Classroom management principles will be taught as well. With this understanding, the learners will learn to apply various Classroom Management Strategies underpinned by classroom management principles to manage these behaviours within the classroom setting.

This is one of the four short courses that can be taken separately by learners and stacked towards the Certificate in Student Management

Student Care coachers. Professionals who are working with students aged 7-14 years old.

Learning Outcomes

The course aims to prepare students to demonstrate:
The end of the training, the course would equip participants with the following learning outcomes:
• Demonstrate the understanding of the factors associated with disruptive classroom behaviours of students
• Demonstrate the understanding of classroom management principles
• Demonstrate the competency of application of classroom management strategies

Course Date: 16 Jul 2024 – 26 Jul 2024
Class Day: 4 x half days
Application Period: 17 May 2024 – 27 Jun 2024
Duration: 4 x half day lessons – Every Tuesday & Friday
Time:  8.30am to 12.30pm
Delivery Mode: Lessons will comprise lectures and practical with a mixture of online learning and face-to-face on-campus mode.

Lesson Plan

Day 1 (8 Hours) – Synchronous Online
– Introduction to the principles of Classroom Management
– Classroom Management strategies (Part 1)

Day 2 (8 Hours) – Face to Face
– Classroom Management Strategies (Part 2)
– Practical Assessment

Certification

A Certificate of Performance will be awarded to participants who achieve at least 75% attendance and pass the assessment.


Participants will further obtain a Certificate in Student Management upon completion of all 4 courses in the program.


Course Fees

Funding period for this course is from 11 Aug 2022 to 31 Dec 2024.
