Course Information

The Career Conversion Programme for Registered Nurses (Diploma) [CCP-RN (Diploma)] helps and supports mid-career Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (PMETs) in acquiring relevant training to be Registered Nurses. 

The CCP-RN (Diploma) is one of the mid-career conversion programmes under the Healthcare CCP umbrella that is offered by WSG, in conjunction with Ministry of Health (MOH) and supported by MOH Holdings.

Funding will be provided by WSG, MOH and a co-sponsoring organisation for successful candidates to undergo the 2-year Diploma in Nursing (Accelerated) at Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) for the October intake.

More about the Nursing Profession:

The general roles of nurses include assessing patients’ physical and mental health, performing clinical procedures, helping patients improve or maintain their health and educating patients and their families on health matters. They work alongside a team of professionals to provide safe and smooth delivery of patient care every day. Thus, teamwork, communication skills and attention to details are some of the key qualities that a nurse should possess.

In the healthcare sector, the monthly starting base salary for a Registered Nurse with diploma qualifications is around $2,500*. Upon completion, you will be eligible for registration with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) and obtain the licence to practise as a professional nurse. You can also expect progression in your career through various structured career pathways (e.g. clinical, education, managerial tracks) as you gain experience and expertise.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the CCP-RN (Diploma) course, graduates will be able to:

(a) demonstrate understanding, knowledge, accountability and responsibility of the legal obligations for nursing practice;

(b) demonstrate and maintain ethical nursing practice;

(c) provide culturally appropriate and holistic care;

(d) maintain safe environment through the use of quality assurance and risk management strategies;

(e) apply strategies to promote health and prevent illnesses;

(f) demonstrate effective managerial and leadership skills with effective communication;

(g) use principles of quality improvement and incorporate them into nursing practice;

(h) demonstrate accountability for one’s development and status as a professional Registered Nurse; and

(i) demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills in research in different healthcare settings.

Level 1.1 Fundamentals of Nursing

This module traces the development of nursing from the Florence Nightingale era to contemporary nursing practice, globally and in Singapore. Students are introduced to concepts and theories in professional nursing practice. The Nursing Process framework in development of care plans will be introduced. Students will also be presented with keys concepts of clinical reasoning, critical thinking and problem solving in making clinical decisions.

 

Level 1.1 Nursing Skills Laboratory 1

This module equips students with entry level nursing knowledge and skills to care for patients and meet their basic health needs. Students learn essential skills necessary to enable them to practise fundamental nursing skills and provide care for patients with common surgical conditions.

 

Level 1.1 - Human Biosciences 1.1

This module provides students with an understanding of the biological basis of human diseases. It will introduce the cell, cellular organisation and organ systems. It will also provide students with knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, renal and urinary, haematology, and immune systems.

 

Level 1.1 - Behavioural Sciences

This module provides students with an overview of sociology and psychology, with a focus on understanding how behavioural sciences are applied to healthcare practice. It also gives students an insight into the psychological and social perspectives on health and illness.

 

Level 1.1 - Integrated Nursing Sciences 1

This module provides an integrated coverage of pathophysiology, medical and nursing care management, and pharmacological treatment of common cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, renal and urinary, hepatobiliary, vascular and musculoskeletal disorders. The principles for safe drug administration and use of the nursing process framework to avoid drug errors will be emphasized. The module will be taught using a systems, scenario-based, and interdisciplinary approach.

 

Level 1.1 - Clinical Practice 1

This module allows students to practise basic nursing care, provide preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative care in meeting patients’ health needs. Students will have opportunities to apply the knowledge and skills learnt at levels 1.1 into clinical practice in various healthcare settings. They will be assigned to surgical disciplines for 5 weeks.

 

Level 1.2 - Human Biosciences 1.2

This module will provide students with an understanding of the biological basis of human diseases. It will provide students with knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the nervous, reproductive, sensory, integumentary and endocrine systems of the human body. It will also introduce the basic principles of microbiology and principles of infection control.

 

Level 1.2 - Nursing Skills Laboratory 2

This module equips students with the fundamental nursing knowledge and skills to provide preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative care in meeting patients’ health needs. Students learn these essential skills to implement timely interventions and care plans for patients who suffer from common medical- surgical, obstetric and gynaecological and paediatric conditions.

 

Level 1.2 - Women and Children Health

This module covers the comprehensive diseases processes and patient care management for patients in obstetrics, gynaecological and paediatric settings.

 

Level 1.2 - Integrated Nursing Sciences 2

This module provides an integrated coverage of the pathophysiology, medical and nursing care management, and pharmacological treatment of common reproductive, endocrine, neurological, immunological, integumentary and sensory disorders. The module will be taught using a systems, scenario-based, and interdisciplinary approach.

 

level 1.2 -Mental Health Nursing and Palliative Care

This module explores treatment modalities, legal and ethical issues related to mental health nursing and the role of the psychiatric nurse in caring for patients and families in the hospital and community. In addition, the students will also learn to plan and deliver palliative care nursing and end-of-life care to patients in both acute and community settings.

 

Level 1.2 - Clinical Practice 2

This module allows students to provide preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative care in meeting patients’ health needs. Students will have opportunities to apply the knowledge and skills learnt at Levels

Note: 1.1 and 1.2 into clinical practice in specialised healthcare settings. They will be assigned to the mental health and paediatrics (male students only) and mental health and paediatrics or obstetrics & gynaecology disciplines (female students only) for 2 weeks each (total 4 weeks).

 

level 2.1- Integrated Nursing Sciences 3

This module provides an integrated coverage the pathophysiology, medical and nursing management and pharmacological treatment of patients requiring emergency and perioperative care. Students will learn how to provide acute, transitional and long term care for patients in the community. This module will be taught using a systems, scenario-based, and interdisciplinary approach.

 

Level 2.1 - Nursing Skills Laboratory 3

This module equips students with fundamental nursing knowledge and skills to provide preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative care in meeting patient’s health needs. Students learn to co-ordinate and manage patient care in a variety of health care settings. This module also equips students with skills to care for patients requiring emergency and perioperative care, and providing acute, transitional and long- term care for patients in the community setting.

 

Level 2.1 - Introduction to Nursing Research

This module introduces the basic concepts and skills in research and statistical analysis so that students are able to understand and critically evaluate evidence and data to support their clinical practice. Topics will include research design, data collection methods, literature searching strategies, basic statistical analysis and good clinical practice guidelines.

 

Level 2.1 - Nursing Management and Professional Development

This module provides students with an understanding of the Singapore healthcare system, health informatics and organisation of nursing services. An overview of quality assurance, occupational health and risk management strategies in clinical practice will be covered. Effective managerial and leadership skills in the provision of nursing care will also be explored. Students will develop accountability through personal and professional development.

 

Level 2.1 - Gerontology and Community Nursing

This module involves the systematic examination and application of nursing care for the elderly. The role of the community nurse will also be explored. In addition, the students will acquire the knowledge and skills to employ the nursing process to plan illness/disease preventive strategies for the individuals, families and the community at large. Students are encouraged to develop a reflective approach to nursing practice in caring for the elderly in various health care settings.

 

Level 2.1 - Law, Ethics and Healthcare

This module involves the systematic examination and application of the laws that govern nursing practice, explore ethical principles and moral standards of conduct. Topics include the legal system in Singapore, the legislative framework, the role of the SNB and its regulatory functions; the SNB Code for Nurses and Midwives and ethical decision-making process which have an implication on nursing practice.

 

Level 2.2 - Clinical Practice 3

This module allows students to provide holistic patient care in meeting patients’ health needs. Students will have opportunities to apply the knowledge and skills learnt at Levels 1.1, 1.2 and 2.1 into clinical practice in various healthcare settings. This module will prepare the students for their Pre-Registration Consolidation Practice. They will be assigned to the medical discipline for 6 weeks.

 

Level 2.2 - Clinical Practice (Specialised)

This module allows students to provide primary, emergency, gerontology and rehabilitative care in meeting patients’ health needs. Students will have opportunities to apply the knowledge and skills learnt at Levels 1.1, 1.2, 2.1 into clinical practice in various healthcare settings. Students will be assigned to specialised settings, i.e. Community Health for 2 weeks, Emergency Department for 1 week and Intermediate and Long-term Care facilities for 4 weeks (Total 7 weeks).

 

Level 2.2 -Pre-Registration Consolidation Practice

This module allows students to provide care to individuals with diseases and illnesses across a lifespan in a hospital setting. Students should apply the knowledge and skills learnt to clinical practice. The students are required to complete a two-week in-campus intensive preparation program and a 10-week Pre-Registration Consolidation Practice in a medical or surgical discipline. This module provides an opportunity for students to consolidate and refine their skills and knowledge gained over the three years of study.

 

Trainer's Profile

Chriselda Khoo

Chriselda Khoo holds a Bachelor in Nursing, with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Higher Education and an Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Pediatric). 

Chriselda has more than 10 years working experience in the private and public sector dealing in direct care management and education. 

Chriselda is the programme lead for the “Career Conversion Programme for Registered Nurses (Diploma)” programme with Ngee Ann Polytechnic. 

Desmond Loo

Desmond Loo, a registered nurse and dedicated health profession educator, has embarked on a lifelong learning journey culminating in a Master of Counselling, a Master of Gerontology, and a BSc in Nursing (Honours). Transitioning from a nursing career in a restructured hospital, Desmond is now a dedicated full-time lecturer at Ngee Ann Polytechnic's School of Health Sciences. 
 

Passionate about adult education, Desmond specialises in teaching various courses, including Mental Health Nursing, Writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Management of Agitated Patients for Nurses, and Counselling and Communication Skills for Nurses. 

Within the School of Health Sciences at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Desmond plays a crucial role in delivering modules focused on clinical skills and mental health nursing, catering to both diploma students and adult learners. His commitment extends beyond the classroom, as he actively contributes to the continuous learning of practicing nurses through specialised courses. 

Lee Suyin Pamelia Joan

Pamelia is a Perioperative Nursing Specialist and Educator with an extensive background in operating room techniques, patient care management, and education. With a career spanning over three decades, Pamelia has dedicated herself to the advancement of perioperative nursing practices and the cultivation of future healthcare professionals. 

Pamelia began her journey as a Registered Nurse licensed by the Singapore Nursing Board in 1986 and has remained an active practitioner ever since. Her passion for perioperative care led her to pursue a post-basic certification in Perioperative Nursing in 1990, solidifying her expertise in the field. Throughout her career, she has amassed a wealth of experience in various surgical specialties, including General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Anaesthesia Care, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Trauma Cases. 

Not content with merely practicing, Pamelia has also played pivotal roles in shaping the landscape of perioperative care. As an educator, she has been instrumental in developing curriculum and teaching materials for Advanced Diploma programmes in Perioperative Nursing. Her dedication to education extends to mentoring new staff, designing assessments, and crafting enriching learning experiences for nursing students at various levels. 

A life member with Singapore Nurses’ Association (SNA) in the Infection Control Chapter and the Operating Room Chapter. 

In 2010, published an evidence-based research paper on Time verses Event-related sterility in the SNA journal. 

Won an Academic Development Award (Gold) for internship entitled ‘Revolving door’ in 2017/2018. In the same year, also won an Innergy award (Bronze) from MOE for School of Health Sciences. 

Pamelia’s academic journey reflects her commitment to lifelong learning and professional development. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Management from Curtin University in 2000, a Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education in 2012, followed by a Master of Education in Curriculum & Teaching from the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University in 2021. 

Noteworthy among her accomplishments is her pivotal role in establishing the Central Supply Sterilisation Department (CSSD) and Theatre Sterile Supply Unit (TSSU) for Changi General Hospital (CGH), demonstrating her leadership and innovation in healthcare management and in National University Hospital (NUH) Operating Theatre, an evident-based practice research on time versus event-related sterility which led to publish a paper in the SNA. 

With her wealth of experience, unwavering dedication, and passion for education, Pamelia continues to be a driving force in advancing perioperative nursing practices and shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals. 

Lu Mengya

Lu Mengya’s qualifications include a nursing diploma, an Advanced Diploma in Perioperative Nursing, and BCLS+CPR certification as a chief instructor. She holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Nursing, a Master of Education and an Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA). The qualifications equip her with necessary skills and knowledge to train and shape future healthcare professionals while staying current with the latest medical advancements and pedagogical methods. 

Mengya is a registered nurse with a valid Singapore Nursing Board license, specialising in perioperative nursing. Her expertise lies in the perioperative care of patients undergoing surgical procedures. With 11 years of experience in both restructured and private hospitals in Singapore, Mengya’s roles have encompassed a range of crucial responsibilities, from preoperative preparation to intraoperative support and postoperative care. 

Mengya brings a wealth of expertise to her role in teaching PET and CET courses including “Diploma in Nursing”, “Advanced Diploma in Perioperative Nursing”, and “Career Conversion Programme for Registered Nurses” (Diploma) at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, School of Health Sciences. Specialising in perioperative nursing, her practical experience in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care significantly enhances both PET and CET curricula. With qualifications in nursing and education, complemented by BCLS+CPR certification, Mengya seamlessly integrates theory and practice. Serving as a BCLS chief instructor, she ensures students are well-equipped for the dynamic healthcare landscape, contributing to the cultivation of skilled and adaptable healthcare professionals.

Abirami Suhitharan Ramanathan

Dr. Abirami is a highly skilled healthcare professional with extensive experience in both the medical and educational fields. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, alongside a Master of Arts in Professional Education and an Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP), reflecting her commitment to both clinical and educational excellence.

Her diverse career includes roles in clinical governance and internal medicine at a restructured hospital, as well as academic positions as a lecturer and senior manager at the Polytechnic. Dr. Abirami teaches full-time and part-time courses, specialising in anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and human biosciences. She is also a certified LUMA Human-Centric Design Thinking Practitioner, integrating innovative, user-focused approaches into her training sessions.

Dr. Abirami’s unique combination of medical expertise, educational knowledge, and design thinking skills enables her to deliver comprehensive and engaging learning experiences. Her dedication to quality and continuous improvement is evident throughout her career, making her a valuable asset to any training programme.

Hassan Hasaa'ree Ali

Hassan is a dedicated healthcare professional and educator with a strong academic background, holding a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education (PGDHE), a Bachelor of Science (Nursing), and an Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Gerontology). His passion for patient care, particularly in gerontology, is matched by his commitment to academic excellence.

With a decade of nursing experience focused on the care of the elderly, Hassan has gained valuable insights into the unique challenges and needs of this population. He now shares this expertise with his students, teaching both full-time and part-time nursing and healthcare-related courses. In the past five years, Hassan transitioned into teaching, and more recently, he has taken on a leadership role as a senior manager, successfully overseeing the fundamentals of nursing module cluster. Under his guidance, the cluster has been aligned with the latest industry standards and best practices.

Hassan specialises in gerontology and fundamental nursing, known for his engaging teaching style that integrates practical knowledge with real-world applications. His educational philosophy centers on lifelong learning and professional development, aiming to equip students with the critical thinking skills, clinical expertise, and compassionate care required to excel in today’s healthcare environment.

Low Yew Chen Carmen

Yew Chen is a highly experienced nursing professional with a strong academic foundation, holding a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and an Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Critical Care). Her qualifications enable her to effectively impart advanced nursing knowledge and skills to the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Since 2019, she has been a lecturer at a polytechnic, teaching full-time and part-time courses focused on paediatric and medical nursing. Drawing from her extensive clinical experience in paediatric critical care, Yew Chen offers her students a comprehensive and practical education. For over a decade, she served as a nurse clinician and senior staff nurse in the paediatric intensive care unit, where she led nursing teams, managed complex cases, and ensured the highest standards of patient care in a demanding environment.

She also gained valuable experience in medical and oncology paediatrics, caring for critically ill children and supporting their families through difficult times. Her expertise in managing a range of paediatric medical conditions further enriches her teaching.

Yew Chen is known for her ability to translate complex clinical concepts into engaging lessons. She is passionate about preparing her students for the realities of paediatric and medical/surgical nursing, with a focus on critical thinking, evidence-based practice, and compassionate care.

Jeremy Chavell Jordan Oliveiro

Jeremy is a passionate and experienced mental health professional with over 17 years of experience. Beyond his role as an educator, Jeremy also provides counselling and therapeutic support to individuals facing socioemotional challenges, mental health concerns, and special educational needs (SEN).

Jeremy holds a Master in Counselling, a BSc in Psychology, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Higher Education, demonstrating his commitment to ongoing learning and diverse knowledge. He specialises in various evidence-based therapies. He excels in working with both young people and adults, employing an eclectic approach that adapts to individual needs. He believes in fostering collaboration and empowering individuals to succeed, recognising the importance of community support. Furthermore, Jeremy focuses on understanding the unique experiences of each person and treating them with respect and empathy, looking beyond the label of a mental health diagnosis, to view and regard persons with mental health conditions for who they are.

Ruth Zhang

Ruth is a dedicated healthcare professional and educator at the School of Health Sciences, Ngee Ann Polytechnic. With specialised experience in mental health nursing at a restructured hospital, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. Ruth holds a Bachelor in Science (Nursing), Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Mental Health), and Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education. She is trained in motivational interviewing, enhancing her ability to support and guide her learners effectively. 

In her teaching role, Ruth conducts both short and full-qualification courses on mental health subjects and general medical-surgical nursing. She has experience in running group therapy and mental health interventions for youth and elderly alike.  She is passionate about mental health advocacy and is dedicated to promoting mental wellness within the community. Her work not only educates future nurses but also fosters greater awareness and understanding of mental health issues.

See Li Chin

Li Chin is an experienced educator with an Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA), a Master in Education, a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education (PGDHE), a Master in Health Services Management, a Bachelor in Nursing, Post-basic certificates specialising in neonatal and intensive care nursing respectively, and a certificate for OJT blueprint development.

Her previous work experience in various healthcare disciplines (neonatal intensive, paediatric, multidisciplinary adult and surgical cardiothoracic intensive) in the private and public healthcare settings, serving individuals from diverse age groups, has been foundational to her healthcare professional journey as a nurse. She teaches full-time and part-time nursing and healthcare-related courses, specialising in general medical-surgical and critical care. As a senior lecturer and course chair, she is involved in curriculum development and review, teaching-learning activities, and people development.

Li Chin aims to equip her full-time and part-time learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to deliver exceptional care and to make significant contributions to nursing education and healthcare. Her commitment to fostering a supportive and dynamic learning environment has empowered countless students to excel in their nursing careers.

Sivaneswary Palanibilo

Sivaneswary is a senior lecturer at the School of Health Sciences, where she also serves as the Overseas Programme (OSP) Senior Manager and Personalised Learning Pathway (PLP) coordinator. She holds a Master’s in Science (Nursing Practice), Post-Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Post-Basic Certificate in Midwifery Nursing. Her extensive background as a nurse educator at a private medical centre and her diverse working experiences across three different countries as a nurse equip her with a unique and valuable perspective in her field.

She is dedicated to empowering future nurses and fostering excellence in nursing education. She is committed to adhering to evidence-based guidelines and hospital policies with a passion for high standards of nursing care for mothers and babies. Her approach to teaching is both transformative and inspiring, guiding students towards improved care outcomes for their clients. She teaches full-time and part-time nursing and healthcare-related courses .

In her role, she designs and implements innovative educational strategies that cater to the diverse needs of her students. She collaborates with international partners to enhance the learning experience through overseas programmes and personalised learning pathways. She stays abreast of the latest advances in nursing education and practice.

Angela Koh Wei Fang

Angela is an accomplished nursing professional and educator focusing on medical-surgical nursing and gerontology. With a Master in Gerontology, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, an Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Medical-Surgical) and a polytechnic professional development education (PDE) certificate, Angela brings a rich academic background and extensive clinical experience to her current role as a polytechnic lecturer.

Since 2023, she has been inspiring and educating the next generation of nurses. Her transition into academia is supported by over a decade of hands-on clinical experience, which provides her with the practical insights necessary to deliver engaging and effective teaching. She worked in the medical-surgical high-dependency units for more than ten years. During that time, she managed complex patient cases and provided high-level care in a demanding environment. She sharpened her skills in critical care, patient management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Angela teaches full-time and part-time nursing and healthcare-related courses. Her extensive experience in high-dependency settings allows her to bring real-world scenarios into the classroom, helping students connect theoretical knowledge with clinical practice. Her teaching philosophy emphasises the importance of critical thinking, evidence-based practice, and compassionate care, all essential components of nursing excellence, especially for those elderly. With a commitment to student success and professional development, Angela is dedicated to preparing future nurses to excel in the dynamic and challenging healthcare field.

Azlinah Binte Kassim

Azlinah is a nursing professional and educator with a medical-surgical and gerontology care background. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education, a Bachelor of Nursing, and an Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Gerontology).

Since 2024, Azlinah has contributed to developing future healthcare professionals as a polytechnic lecturer. A solid clinical foundation backs her move to education. She has served as an assistant nurse clinician, clinical instructor, senior staff nurse, and staff nurse for more than fifteen years, during which time she developed a deep understanding of patient care and the importance of compassionate, evidence-based nursing practice. She also played a key role in managing nursing teams and ensuring the delivery of comprehensive patient care.

Azlinah’s approach to training is deeply influenced by her extensive hands-on experience, especially in the medical and surgical healthcare settings. She is passionate about equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking abilities required to excel in today’s fast-paced healthcare environment.

With a focus on gerontology, Azlinah is committed to preparing nurses to meet the unique needs of an ageing population, ensuring that they are well-prepared to provide high-quality care to elderly patients.

Hazel Lim Wai Ling

Hazel is a nursing professional and educator with a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing). She brings academic nursing foundations and research-related experiences to her role as a polytechnic lecturer, where she has been shaping the minds of future nurses since 2011.

With a five-year diverse work experience in dermatology, renal, and general wards as a nurse, and completed later by several years of research as a research nurse and research assistant, Hazel contributed to impactful studies that have advanced her understanding of various healthcare fields.

Hazel has made contributions to research, particularly in the areas of dementia and healthcare technology. Her published works include "Knowledge and Attitudes towards Dementia among the General Public in Singapore: A Comparative Analysis," featured in Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders in April 2023, and "Introducing a Healthcare-Assistive Robot in Primary Care: A Preliminary Questionnaire Survey," published in Frontiers in Robotics and AI in May 2023. These publications reflect her dedication to exploring innovative solutions and addressing public health issues.

In her teaching role, Hazel provides students with hands-on experience and bridges the gap between theory and practice. Hazel’s combination of clinical experience, research expertise, and teaching excellence makes her an invaluable asset to both her students and the broader healthcare community.

Jennifer Bao Zhenyuan

Jennifer is a highly skilled nursing professional with extensive expertise in perioperative nursing care, research, and education. She holds a diverse array of qualifications, including a Master of Clinical Research, an Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment, a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education, an Advanced Diploma in Business Management, an Advanced Diploma in Perioperative Nursing, and a Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing).

Jennifer honed her clinical skills as a perioperative nurse at the KK Women's and Children's Hospital, where she provided exceptional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. She managed the complexities of the perioperative environment, ensuring patient safety and delivering high-quality care throughout the surgical process.

With over a decade of experience in education, Jennifer seamlessly integrated her clinical expertise with academic rigour, enriching the classroom with real-world insights. Siti Radiah Binte Rifa'i

Siti Radiah is a dedicated nursing educator with a strong focus on paediatric, obstetric and gynaecology, and palliative care nursing. With a Specialist Diploma in Palliative Care Nursing, a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education, a Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing), and an Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Paediatrics), she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her teaching role.

Siti has been a polytechnic lecturer since 2013, where she specialises in educating future nurses in paediatric and general nursing. Her teaching is deeply informed by her clinical background, which included over a decade of experience in paediatric nursing and three years in Obstetrics and Gynecology (O&G). This diverse clinical experience enables her to provide students with practical insights and real-world applications of their theoretical learning.

In the classroom, she is known for her commitment to student engagement and the development of critical thinking skills. She is passionate about preparing the next generation of nurses to provide high-quality care, particularly in the fields of paediatrics and general nursing, where their expertise truly shines.

Siti’s approach to education is rooted in evidence-based practice and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by both paediatric individuals and their families. Tan Hong Yong

Dr. Tan is a medical professional and educator with a unique blend of expertise in both medicine and economics. Holding an MBBS and a Bachelor of Science in Economics, he has developed a multidisciplinary approach to healthcare and education.

With nearly a decade of medical work experience, Dr. Tan understands the complexities and demands of the changing healthcare environment. This extensive clinical background allows him to bring practical insights and real-world applications into his teaching. He teaches full-time and part-time nursing and healthcare-related courses, focusing on health assessment, anatomy and physiology, human biosciences, applied pathophysiology and pharmacology, and biology. His teaching approach lays the foundational knowledge that encourages his learners to think critically and reason so they can provide better care in a dynamic healthcare environment.

He has applied his leadership skills and economic acumen to be instrumental in aligning educational strategies with industry needs, ensuring the modules he is leading are both relevant and forward-thinking.

Entry Requirements

Applicants with any of the following qualifications are invited to apply for the course:

Entry requirements for CCP-RN (Diploma) are as follows.

(a) General CCP Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident;
  • Minimum age of 21 years; and
  • Graduated from full-time studies or completed National Service for at least two years (whichever is most recent), prior to the course commencement date.
  • Not a current nurse or nursing student;
  • Does not possess a valid Practising Certificate with Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) and is not eligible for the Return to Nursing (RTN) programme (see Notes below)

(b) Academic Entry Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree from a recognised university in a discipline other than nursing; or
  • Local polytechnic diploma in a discipline other than nursing; or
  • 3 GCE ‘A’ level credits* with 2 GCE ‘O’ level credits^ in a Science subject and Mathematics (*GCE ‘A’ level credits refer to grades A to E ^GCE ‘O’ level credits refer to grades A1 to C6)

  • Meeting the above requirements does not guarantee enrolment into the CCP. Admission is based on a holistic assessment of the candidate and subject to other requirements including clearing the medical test and securing sponsorship from a participating organisation.

Funding Support

Course fees will be fully sponsored. Trainees will receive training allowances ranging from $1,920 to $2,320 per month, pegged to their years of prior work experiences, throughout the training period.
