Low Yim Wah
Low Yim Wah served as a Senior Technical Services Engineer at Singapore Airlines for eight years, where he specialised in managing and resolving technical issues related to the structural integrity of aircraft airframes. He also reviewed structural service bulletins for various aircraft models such as the A380, A330, A345, B747, and B777, and provided critical recommendations and engineering documents to ensure the proper follow-up actions were taken. Additionally, he offered technical assistance to both Base and Line maintenance teams and also composite and sheet-metal workshops.During his tenure, Yim Wah played a vital role in the A345 operation team for 18 months, overseeing the dispatch of A345 aircraft to avoid delays. He also performed routine standby duty to support Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations, ensuring timely dispositions for the entire SIA fleet. His other duties include monitoring the A380 fleet for recurring structural defects, and to develop follow-up actions such as inspection interval reductions and preventive maintenance.
Yim Wah collaborated with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) for known structural issues and facilitated modifications and inspections for the A330 and A380 fleets. He was part of the team that successfully prepared and oversaw the first C03 check of the A380 fleet.
Trained in structural and composite repair courses, Yim Wah has consistently demonstrated his commitment to maintaining high standards in aircraft structural integrity and operational efficiency. His contributions have been integral to ensuring the safety and reliability of Singapore Airlines' fleet.
