Course Objectives
The course aims to equip participants for digital marketing job roles, which entails planning and executing campaigns that require a wide range of digital skills in areas such as digital branding, social media marketing, search engine marketing, content creation and design, content marketing, email marketing, display advertising, brand storytelling, issues and crisis management, and data analytics and reporting.Upon completion of the programme, candidates would be poised for success in positions across the digital spectrum in a job function that is high-growth across markets.
Course Description
This Work-Study Post-Diploma (WSPostDip) is in line with the transformation of marketing brought about by digital disruption across all industries and sectors. It is designed to give fresh graduates of a full-time Polytechnic Diploma a career headstart in Digital Marketing sector.The WSP comprise of two Post Diploma Certificates (PDCs)
1. PDC in Social Media Marketing & Brand Management:
This certificate aims to equip participants with brand building knowledge and will provide the necessary fundamentals to become effective digital marketers.

•  Issues & Crisis Management (45 hrs)
•  Social Media Strategies (60 hrs)
2. PDC in Digital Marketing Practicum:
This certificate aims to equip participants with the knowledge to plan, execute and evaluate digital marketing campaigns and projects effectively.
On-The-Job Training (OJT) (150 hours)
•  Digital Strategies & Media Planning (45 hrs)
•  Media Content Development (45 hrs)
•  Technical Skills in Media, Marketing & Analytics (60 hrs)
Trainer's Profile
Melvin Tan
Melvin Tan is a seasoned educator with over 23 years of experience at Ngee Ann Polytechnic's School of InfoComm Technology. He currently leads the Diploma in Immersive Media, where he imparts cutting-edge knowledge in web technologies, gamification, and digital media. Melvin holds a Master of Technology (Software Engineering) from the Institute of Systems Science at the National University of Singapore, as well as an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic & Electrical Engineering from the University of Glasgow, UK.Melvin’s professional journey spans roles at prominent companies such as Creative Technology, Development Bank of Singapore, and Dresdner Management Consulting (the consulting arm of Dresdner Bank AG). His areas of expertise include software development, web technologies, and interactive media, providing him with a well-rounded foundation in both academic and industry settings.
In addition to his teaching duties, Melvin represents Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Singapore as an expert in Web Technologies for the WorldSkills Competition, where he trains and mentors students to compete at the international level. He is passionate about nurturing the next generation of tech talents.
Melvin is also actively involved in the Singapore Computer Society, serving as the Honorary Treasurer of the Digital Media Chapter. In this role, he is committed to advancing the digital media sector and contributing to the growth of Singapore's tech landscape.
At Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Melvin teaches a diverse range of modules, including Gamification Concepts, Web Design & Development, Digital Photography, and Games Design & Development. Outside of academia, he engages in consultancy work, collaborating with industry leaders such as Canon to develop innovative web applications.
Najib Ahmad
Najib Ahmad has 16 years of experience in communications, including the last 8+ years at Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) handling digital marketing, business development, and training/education. He oversees marketing programmes to drive enrolment and build NP's brand as a training centre for continuous learning. Prior to NP, he spent 6 years in PR, managing communications campaigns and day-to-day programmes for corporations such as Qatar Airways, Honeywell Aerospace, Microsoft, EMC, eBay, FedEx, and Fonterra.Najib’s area of expertise is in the field of Digital Marketing & Communications.
As a lecturer in Public Relations and Digital Marketing, Najib won the School Teaching Award and was instrumental in implementing industry-in-curriculum, partnering with government agencies, NGOs and MNCs to expose students to real-world projects.
Najib currently teaches full-time students in the area of digital marketing and is the Course Lead for the “Specialist Diploma in Digital Branding & Social Media Strategies” programme.

Participants will also be exposed to social listening and monitoring, and learn to use analytics and community management tools that are widely used by marketers and brands.
This module also aims to make marketers more productive and better at making optimal decisions. They will learn to deliver value for the brand by leveraging on descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics to comprehend, forecast and formulate solutions. Participants will learn how to use data analytics tools to evaluate and mine customer sentiments in order to make decisions and support marketing activities.
