Course Objectives

The Specialist Diploma in Business Digitalisation (Analytics)(SDBD(A)) is a part-time CET course consisting of the following modules:
1) Business Insights (75hrs)
2) Information Organisation (75hrs)
3) Predictive Analytics (75hrs)
4) AI Applications (75hrs)

Course Description

SDBD(A) is designed for mid-level executives and frontend data users seeking to enhance data visualisation skills, apply analytics, and optimise business processes with minimal programming. At the end of the course, learners will be equipped with an understanding of ML/ AI solutions which can be used to automate tasks, enhance decision-making processes, and drive innovation across various industries. Learners will be able to recommend and build AI/ML solutions with available No/Low-code tools to learn from data, identify patterns, and make intelligent decisions.

Note:
This course consists of four modules, with two modules covered per semester. Each module includes two full-day, face-to-face classes at Ngee Ann Polytechnic and two full-day online classes. These full-day sessions are typically held within the first three months of each semester. After completing the four full-day sessions, learners will continue the remaining sessions online at their own pace.

AI Applications (NP-SAA)
This module will equip learners Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and current practices in the industry. It also explores how AI is currently used across various industries to achieve productivity improvements and the transformation of the businesses through innovative applications of AI. Web-based and Low-code tools that makes creating AI models fast, easy, and accessible to everyone will be used. The ethical, legal and social implications of the use of AI in business will be examined.
Predictive Analytics (NP-SPA)
This module will equip learners Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and current practices in the industry. It also explores how AI is currently used across various industries to achieve productivity improvements and the transformation of the businesses through innovative applications of AI. Web-based and Low-code tools that makes creating AI models fast, easy, and accessible to everyone will be used. Post-Diploma Certificate in Visualisation and Analytics
Business Insights (NP-SBI)
This module aims to equip students with fundamental concepts of Data Visualisation for Business to develop interactive management dashboards for decision making. This involves applying best dashboard design principles, data story-telling techniques as well as insight gathering techniques. Students will learn how to organise data, perform data preparation, develop interactive dashboards, design data story-telling reports and automate repetitive tasks.
Information Organisation (NP-SIO)
This module is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of database concepts and management. Students will also gain technical proficiency such as SQL, Python and data warehouse basics, empowering them in data querying, preparation, processing and manipulation. Moreover, students will gain valuable insights into data project lifecycles, equipping them with the essential skills to execute and implement their own data projects.
