Course Information
This 1-day Work-SMART OJT Coach programme is a fast-track course for participants who would like to i) implement structured On-the-Job Training (OJT) to codify best practices and ii) use effective coaching methods to optimize job performance.
Learning Outcomes
- Overview of Workplace Learning
- Understand objectives of structured on-the-job training
- Develop structured OJT blueprints for specific job roles, including defining the main tasks and the knowledge, skills & attitude required to complete the main tasks successfully.
- Use SMART goals and training strategies to promote knowledge and skill competencies
- Understand objectives of workplace coaching
- Conduct workplace coaching by applying key communication skills in a supportive learning environment
- Develop a workplace coaching plan that identifies areas for coaching and improvements in job performance

- Drafting an OJT blueprint
- Overview of an OJT programme:
- a) Define parameters of an OJT programme
- b) Design, Develop and Validate an OJT programme
- Objectives of Workplace Coaching
- Key communication skills of an effective coach:
EQACER approach (Effective Communication, Questioning Skills, Active Listening, Constructive Feedback, Empathy and non-judgement, Rapport Building)
- Conducting workplace coaching:
SBI-ACTION approach (Situation, Behaviour, Impact)
- Managing challenges in coaching
- Drafting a Coaching Plan (linked to OJT blueprint)
Assessment: Class participation and presentations
Certification
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to learner who achieve at least 75% attendance and pass all required assessment(s).
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to learner who meet the 75% attendance requirement.
Entry Requirements
No prior knowledge is required.
Course Fees
Funding period for this course is from 08 July 2024 to 31 May 2027.
SkillsFuture Credit
All Singaporeans aged 25 and above can use their $500 SkillsFuture Credit from the government to pay for a wide range of approved skills-related courses. Visit the SkillsFuture Credit website to choose from the courses available on the Training Exchange course directory.

Long Term Visit Pass Plus (LTVP+) holders, please furnish the following documents to the course administrator to qualify for SSG funding:
Self-sponsored learner (**LTVP+): Copy of your green visit pass card, with the word ‘PLUS’ on the back of the card.
Co-sponsored learner (##LTVP+): Copy of valid and current Letter of Consent (LOC) from MOM
GST Increment in 2024
